West Park was psychiatric hospital in Epsom. Built during WWI it was the final addition to the Epsom Cluster.
This was the second mortuary on this day I also visited St Peters Mortuary beforehand.
Sadly all that remained was this small building, originally the mortuary its final use was histopathology where blood and brain samples were stored and tested.
It can be quite shocking what gets left behind. Lots of slides for a microscope containing tissue and quite possibly labelled with patient names and paraffin blocks containing brain samples!!
