The Green School was originally built at the end of the 19th century, I did read as an asylum but I can not find any evidence to back that story up.
Quite a large school which seems to of been expanded over time due to the different building styles. At its peak it was educating around 500 pupils.
Due to varying reasons the school closed early in the 21st century and has been left abandoned ever since. There is little graffiti and decay has set in well. One room pretty much has grass carpet.
There was once a beautiful chapel here but sadly a fire in 2012 totally destroyed it. Most of the roof is gone the beautiful features are no more and scaffolding supports the ceiling.
There are development plans for the site and originally the chapel was meant to be left untouched, sadly after the fire this may not be a feasible option.
