Roche Products: UK March 2016

Roche products are a pharmaceutical company based in Welwyn Garden City. I believe all that remains here are offices which are based opposite this abandoned site. There was originally a factory here but all that remains now are these offices. They are a grade ii listed building which was built in 1940 to the deign of Otto Salvisberg.

An application has been submitted for change of use so the site can be converted into 34 flats. Residents have raised concerns about the parking if this goes ahead. Having parked near here I can understand why these concerns were raised. However the planning application goes above the local council parking guidelines with 39 spaces that is more than one space per flat.

Access here was a stroke of luck I was passing by and spotted a freshly smashed window, so I popped in for a quick look. While grabbing a few shots I heard a few voices, they realised I was in here and I heard kids putting on a big mans voice to try and scare me. They were cool when they realised why I was there and we had a brief chat. Literally 5 minutes after leaving the police turned up as I was walking back past with all my gear luckily they never said a word and I was on my way back home feeling accomplished.
