Puits Simon ii

So here we have the thermal power station of a large abandoned mine complex in France.

Mining on this site started in 1904 and continued on until 2002. There was a total of five wells (mines) spread across the site.

A number of buildings have been demolished on the site but what remains here is considered of historic value. Sadly not enough value to actually look after them as well as keep them and they are starting to enter a poor state of decay.

There were a few more buildings around the site but we only visited the old power plant, so there could well be a few more bits of interest around here.
