Loxley United Reformed Church as it also known as is an abandoned chapel built in 1787.
Set in a small village just outside Sheffield with some beautiful views it has been grade ii listed since 1985.
Known by locals as the Top Chapel, it was built at the cost of £1000 by the congregation of Bradfield Church.
In 1872 the baptism of Henry Tingle Wilde took place. Henry grew up to be the First Officer on the HMS Titanic.
The church closed in 1993 and is now privately owned. Sadly it has been left abandoned since and as you can see decay has set in and vandalism has took place. Maybe one day the building may be saved, at the moment though the future is looking bleak.
