So I guess this large hall was built around 1919 due to the dated headstone over the main entrance.
This large building spans the length of all three blast furnaces at around 200 metres. It would of been the main source of power for the entire site. This changed at some point after the construction of the Richemont powerplant during the 1950’s. All the old power generating equipment has been removed to create storage space at the end of the hall. However I believe the control room panels remain in pristine condition hiding behind false walls of a prefabricated office we found.
So this vast hall now just houses the blowers for the blast furnaces and spare parts.
