The central staircase was quite a beauty.
The clock tower had some great views.
There were two curved staircases at the rear of each wing.
Known as the war room, this small space was filled with memorabilia.
There were a number of soviet inspired murals throughout the building. Sadly I missed a few.
So strangely I had visited the Soviet War Memorial at Treptower Park the day before. The statue is in tribute to Nikolai Masalov for the recue of a three year old German girl during the final stand in Berlin. Of course he is also standing on a broken swastika to symbolise the crush of the Nazi Regime.
