Business opened here in 1531. With the original building of a similar design to the one that stands now but without the main roof. Sadly it had to be rebuilt due to a fire in 1583, but the original plans were still used.
In 1853 a roof was added to the site and was inspired by the roof of Londons Crystal Palace.
Yet again plagued with bad luck another fire in 1858. This left the need for the place to be rebuilt for the third time. In 1872 the project was complete. This is the building you see before you.
