The surgery was built in 1928 during the third construction phase on the Beelitz site and is located in Quadrant A the Lungenheilstätte für Frauen part of the sanatorium.
The design of the building shows its later construction period and is much less extravagant than the older buildings on the site. Built for the surgical treatment of tuberculosis. These procedures began to be phased out during the 1940’s due to advancements of medical science. Even though the design is less extravagant it was built for serving a purpose including roof terraces for staff to escape and enjoy some peace hidden away from the traumatic scenes that went on below them. You can see one of these terraces below, it seemed to resemble a pool on my visit.
The surgery closed in 1994 and was left abandoned ever since.
